| One Team, One Goal...A Community of Engaged Learners I really can’t believe that it is already February! The year has gone by incredibly fast with all that is going on here at Tritt. We were recognized at the CCSD Board meeting on Thursday for our State STEM certification and we look forward to a visit from AdvanED in May to gain that STEM certification. We will be the second school in Cobb to hopefully receive this distinguished honor. Over the past month our Innovative Learning Commons (ILC) started its “Extreme Makeover†thanks to donations you gave to our PTA and our STEM partnership with StarBase at Dobbins Airforce Base. Be on the lookout for new furniture and designs that are conducive to 21st Century instruction and learning. The School Council’s “Be Kind Campaign†is in full swing! Students are being recognized for individual and group acts of kindness. In addition, our “Kindness Kitties†are placed throughout the building. Students look for them and do what they say. For example: Give a compliment to a classmate. It is awesome to see students being recognized for something that goes past academics and into character building. Staff will be putting a “Stamp of Kindness…Leaving a Mark†in February --- so look for the Tritt Tiger temporary tattoo on students’ hands. We will soon start our PE additions. Much research lends itself to the positive impact of physical activity in relation to academic readiness and achievement. We added these after hearing from parents who were not happy with the replacement of one PE day for the Computer Lab – now students get both! I hope to see you at one of my Fireside Chats and at the Tritt Family Dance!
Sincerely,
Dr. Tricia Patterson Principal |
