| One Team, One Goal...A Community of Engaged Learners Dear Tritt Families, Thank you for a wonderful PTA fundraiser and DASH! As the year progresses your child’s teacher will let you know how your contribution is impacting the classroom and entire school. In continuation of the previous entries to this newsletter, we will expand on how Tritt is focused on our Superintendent’s Priorities. Tritt is ahead of the majority of schools in our district and state with Priority #2: Simplifying and stretching our foundation for teaching and learning in order to prepare for innovation. Five years ago Tritt recognized the need to adjust and enhance instruction in order to stretch our teaching and learning and prepare for innovation. As we worked through professional development and differentiated teacher certification to implement STEM and prepare for state certification, we followed a natural progression toward innovative teaching and learning. Tritt is one of the only elementary schools in Georgia to be STEM Certified. More importantly, we are proud of our teachers and excited for our students to be on the fore-front of developing technology and instructional strategies. Our Innovative Learning Commons (ILC) is developing into a hub where research and digital products are connected to classroom standards and lessons. The collaboration between the classroom teachers and the teachers in the ILC is ideal for providing a role model to students on how to work smarter, not harder. The skills that our students are learning in the computer lab during their specials time is also allowing for optimal use of time with technology in the classroom. Technology is not the only way Tritt is being innovative. We are stretching our foundation for teaching and learning by integrating the arts as much as possible and have plans to create “learning spaces†on walls, in the gardens, on the Nature Trail, and around the track. It is our intention to think outside of the box and stimulate all learners throughout the day. As we work in unison with our parents and community, if there is a company or professional you have connections with that is in a STEM field of work, please let us know so we can reach out to them and discover another way to be innovative! Sincerely, Dr. Tricia Patterson Principal |

| The Tritt Elementary PTA would like to thank all of the staff, students, and parents for very a successful fundraiser! We collected $84,139.84! The projected amount collected, after receiving our matching donations, will be $89,000. Our Tritt community will benefit from these funds as our PTA continues to run events and support purchases necessary for our teachers and staff to enhance your student's education. The actual dash day was full of smiles, support, energy, and fun. The students, as well as the staff, did a great job on all of the obstacles. Thank you to our many volunteers who helped during the fundraiser and those who helped on Dash day. A big thank you to our partner in education, Marietta Martial Arts, for sending a volunteer to help supervise the obstacles. Most importantly, thank you to our Tritt families for donating and for making Tritt such an amazing school! We appreciate your support!
